Why today? Why is New Year's Day today and not the 1st of January?

How is this related to Sikhi?

Today is 'Sangrand' (Start of the new month, Chet)

"In the month of Chayt, by meditating on the Lord of the Universe, a deep and profound joy arises."

Guru Arjan Dev Ji Maharaaj wrote Gurbani known as Bara Maha. This advises us how to approach each month.

Bhai Sukhraj Singh Ji and Bhai Tarjinder Singh Ji have done katha explaining the month of Chet in English.

Let's install the teachings of our Guru Jis into our lives.

#GCD2013 Gurpurab Clothes Drive was a blessed year to complete #Kaurageous2013 www.leicesterkaurs.com

THANK YOU does not seem to cover our gratitude for the grace, blessings and kindness the Sangat and wider Leicester community has showered us with! As a community group, our motto is quite simply #InspireASister through positive engagement and empowerment. Maharaj kirpa we hope we have inspired at least one soul, whether through duvet, food or clothes drives or via social networking sakhia/quotes/links etc.

#GCD2013 brought together many sisters of all ages and it was phenomenal to see girls, kids, auntia and bibia serving together at #GCD2013. Furthermore, serving charities which have female empowerment at their very core; Unique Home for Girls and Bridge House Campaign via Action Homeless.

Please forgive the 2013 team for any and all mistakes we have made, and please pray that we are blessed with the ultimate truth;

And in true prayer there is no worshipper and worship; there is only the worshipped.”
